Virgin Voyages’ Valiant Lady Set to Sail Again After Major Dry Dock Refurbishment

Virgin Voyages’ second ship, Valiant Lady, is back in operation after an extensive dry dock refit. This refurbishment enhanced the ship’s offerings with new dining options, redesigns of public spaces, retail improvements, and an enriched onboard entertainment program. The Valiant Lady will spend the summer in Europe before moving to San Juan for Caribbean voyages in the fall.

The dry dock overhaul aimed to bolster guest experiences across dining, entertainment, wellness, and social spaces. The crew of over 1,300 completed a new "Virgin Way" service program to elevate onboard standards and guest interactions.

Key highlights of the refurbishment include:

  • New Dining Venues: A notable addition is "Ariya by Razzle Dazzle," an Indian-inspired restaurant created with chef Maneet Chauhan, showcasing dishes like Lamb Shank Biryani and Puffed Rice. This venue honors Sir Richard Branson’s great-great-grandmother, with a concept based on India’s culinary heritage.

  • Expanded Beverage Options: The Grounds Club Too has been revamped to serve high-quality Intelligentsia Coffee by day, transitioning to a full-service bar at night. The venue "On the Rocks" has also been redesigned for better visibility and seating.

  • Public Space Revamps: The Athletic Club’s layout has been improved for enhanced ocean views, while The Manor nightclub now features an enlarged dance floor. Other areas like The Roundabout and The Dock have received modern furnishings and upgraded stage setups.

  • Retail Enhancements: New boutiques for TAG and Pandora have been added, along with a repositioned Virgin Voyages brand store for greater visibility.

  • Expanded Entertainment Program: Over 20 new events have been introduced in various venues. Notable productions include new interactive experiences in the Red Room and The Manor, as well as engaging dining entertainment concepts at venues like Extra Virgin.

Throughout the summer, Valiant Lady will embark on itineraries across popular destinations such as Italy, the French Riviera, and Iceland, including a unique Mediterranean sailing during the 2026 total solar eclipse. Starting in October, the ship will relocate to San Juan, providing 6- to 8-night Caribbean cruise experiences through April 2027.
