Norwegian Cruise Line Expands South Pacific Deployments of Norwegian Spirit Through 2027

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has announced an expansion of its South Pacific voyages aboard the Norwegian Spirit, extending its deployment through 2027. This expanded schedule includes new sailings for both 2026 and 2027, featuring itineraries that range from 8 to 13 days. The confirmed departures will run through December 2026, with additional itineraries set for April to December 2027.

The Norwegian Spirit will continue to operate out of established homeports in the South Pacific, such as Lautoka, Fiji, Sydney, and Papeete. This move is in response to a growing demand for multi-destination cruise experiences in the region. Passengers are increasingly interested in itineraries that blend island visits, cultural experiences, and ample time at sea.

Highlighted among the new itineraries is a 12-day cruise departing Lautoka, Fiji, on November 30th, 2026, that will end in Sydney. During this trip, the vessel will call on several destinations, including ports in Fiji and Vanuatu, with stops in Brisbane and Newcastle before reaching the eastern coast of Australia. Another noteworthy journey will take place in April 2027, starting from Sydney on an 11-day voyage that will stop at New Caledonia, Vanuatu, and Fiji, with ports of call including Nouméa, Lifou, Port Vila, and Mystery Island.

Additionally, the program features round-trip sailings from Papeete in French Polynesia, available on selected mid-2027 dates. These voyages are expected to include stops at Rarotonga in the Cook Islands, Raiatea, and Moorea, thereby reinforcing the Norwegian Spirit’s established presence in French Polynesia and the surrounding South Pacific area.

The Norwegian Spirit, an older generation ship within NCL’s fleet, has been modified for regional deployments and offers a range of dining, entertainment, and leisure options tailored primarily for adult travelers.

This scheduling extension aligns with improvements in regional travel, including the introduction of direct flights from Sydney to Papeete set for late 2026, aimed at enhancing access to French Polynesia and nearby islands.

According to NCL’s Asia-Pacific leadership, the enriched South Pacific program reflects the growing appeal of inter-island travel by sea, and the company is committed to creating more opportunities for guests to engage with the region during the extended 2026 and 2027 seasons.
