Explora Journeys has introduced a collection of destination experiences curated for its inaugural Alaska season in the summer of 2027. With fourteen departures scheduled between May and September 2027, the company aims to offer guests a unique perspective of this remarkable region through its Alaskan Journeys Collection.
The ship designated for these voyages, the Explora III, recently concluded sea trials in the Mediterranean and is set for launch on July 24. Anna Nash, President of Explora Journeys, emphasized that the new collection aims to foster a deeper connection with Alaska’s breathtaking landscapes, wildlife, and cultural heritage.
Explora Journeys’ shore experiences encompass four thematic categories:

Where Ice Becomes Emotion: This theme includes thrilling activities such as helicopter flights over the Juneau Icefield to visit the Mendenhall Glacier, catamaran excursions that take guests close to Hubbard Glacier, and jet boat rides to view the LeConte Glacier Bay or Shakes Glacier.

Wildlife as Nature Intended: This theme offers opportunities for wildlife sightings, including witnessing black bears fish for salmon in Ketchikan, late-season whale watching at Prince Rupert, and guided rainforest hikes through Tongass National Forest in Juneau.

Blue Wrapped in Green: This focuses on the striking combination of fjords and wild landscapes. Guests can expect guided boat journeys along the Stikine River in Wrangell and explorations of Alaska’s coastal wonders by boat in Seward.

Connections to Stories of Land & Sea: This theme provides insights into the traditions and communities within the region. Guests on Kaien Island in Prince Rupert will be welcomed by the Kitsumkalum community in the Great Bear Rainforest, while a vintage train ride in Skagway retraces the historic path to White Pass Summit.
