Royal Caribbean has announced a partnership with Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity for its ship, Legend of the Seas, in a bid to raise funds and awareness for specialist children’s nurses. This initiative aligns with the ship’s inaugural European season, starting in July 2026. The cruise line aims to support over 250 Roald Dahl nurses in the UK who provide crucial care for children with complex, lifelong illnesses.
Gerard Nolan, VP & MD, EMEA, at Royal Caribbean, expressed the significance of such a collaboration, given the brand’s focus on family experiences, stating that the partnership would support families in need. The ship will feature the Broadway production of Roald Dahl’s "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," enhancing the thematic connection.
In conjunction with this partnership, Royal Caribbean will host Roald Dahl Nurses on a special four-night preview sailing before the official launch on July 4. Louise Griew, the charity’s CEO, highlighted the essential role these nurses play in improving the lives of affected children and their families, and she welcomed the partnership for its potential to raise vital funds and promote awareness.
The Legend of the Seas was recently delivered from Meyer Turku and is prepared for its debut season in Europe.
