Since the launch, the cruise line has facilitated nearly 1,725 shore power connections, utilizing over 123 million kilowatt-hours of hydroelectric energy and preventing approximately 84,534 metric tons of emissions. Shore power has now been adopted at 41 cruise ports globally, showing a growing commitment to sustainable operations.
Princess Cruises collaborates continuously with the City and Borough of Juneau and Alaska Electric Light & Power (AEL&P) to maintain connections that allow cruise ships to draw from Juneau’s hydroelectric power grid, which eliminates engine usage while docked.
