MSC Cruises is set to enhance the shopping experience aboard its newest ship, MSC World Asia, which is slated to begin service in December 2026. The vessel will feature a comprehensive onboard retail programme encompassing a variety of luxury boutiques, family-friendly shopping options, and exclusive brand collaborations.
The retail area will span both the outdoor World Promenade and the indoor World Galleria. Shoppers can expect an array of luxury items, including fashion, jewelry, watches, fragrances, and select MSC-branded merchandise, all available within one destination. The retail expansion is part of MSC Cruises’ broader strategy to elevate onboard shopping across its modern fleet.
Highlights of the new retail offerings will include a multi-brand luxury watch boutique featuring well-known names like Breitling, Cartier, and TAG Heuer, alongside a dedicated Rolex store. Additionally, guests can purchase jewelry from brands such as Messika and Damiani, and explore a selection of luxury fashion and accessories. Fragrances from premium labels including Jo Malone London and Chanel will also be available.
For families, MSC World Asia will introduce innovative retail concepts specifically tailored to younger passengers. Pop-up shops will be located in The Harbour outdoor area and The Clubhouse family venue, offering themed merchandise, games, and souvenirs aimed at children.
The enhanced retail experience will also feature limited-edition collections, temporary pop-up events, and the opportunity for guests to create personalized artwork through Iris Galerie, which specializes in transforming iris photographs. Professional photography services will be available throughout each journey, ensuring guests can capture and remember their adventure.
Starting on December 4, 2026, MSC World Asia will operate 7-night Mediterranean cruises from Barcelona, with stops in cities like Marseille, Messina, Civitavecchia (Rome), Naples, and Valletta. As the third vessel in the WORLD Class series, following MSC World Europa and MSC World America, this ship will incorporate design elements inspired by Asian cultures while adhering to the distinctive architectural style of the class.
This retail initiative aligns with a growing trend in the cruise industry, where onboard shopping experiences are evolving beyond traditional duty-free stores to include luxury products and exclusive offerings that enrich the overall guest journey.
