Michael Stendebach, Holland America Line’s vice president of food, beverage, and rooms division, expressed excitement about the collaboration, highlighting that both organizations strive to create memorable experiences for guests. He noted that bringing Magnolia Bakery’s Banana Pudding aboard is a meaningful way to celebrate the unique culinary offerings that have played a vital role in their history.
Bobbie Lloyd, Magnolia Bakery’s chief brand officer, emphasized the significance of this venture as it marks the first time their desserts will be available at sea. She expressed enthusiasm for sharing the joy of Banana Pudding with guests during the Caribbean season.
Starting in the 2026-27 season, cruise passengers can enjoy this signature dessert at the Lido Market on Holland America Caribbean cruises. The bakery’s Banana Pudding combines familiar ingredients with a distinctive preparation method that contributes to its creamy texture. To ensure the dessert is replicable onboard, Holland America chefs have trained alongside Magnolia Bakery’s team in New York.
In addition to the sweet treat, the Dining Room will feature a range of Caribbean specialties, including dishes like Rum Barbeque Chicken Wings, Jamaican Braised Oxtail, and Pineapple Upside Down Cake. Locally sourced options include roasted grouper and spiced Barramundi. Guests can also participate in a Caribbean Seafood Boil and enjoy themed dining experiences, including Caribbean Teatime and special dinners around the Lido Pool. The cruise line’s exclusive Rum Ambassador program will showcase over 35 distinct rums, enhancing the Caribbean cruise experience.
