Virgin Voyages has rerouted the Brilliant Lady’s Oct. 10 sailing from Los Angeles because of forecasts for Hurricane Rachel and Tropical Storm Simon.
The ship will skip its planned Mexican Riviera stops in Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlán and Puerto Vallarta. Instead, it will call at Santa Barbara, San Diego and Ensenada, returning to Los Angeles as scheduled on Oct. 17.
Virgin said the change was made with guest and crew safety as its priority. The company noted that the replacement destinations may be cooler and advised passengers to bring warm layers and a light jacket. Excursions booked through Virgin for the canceled ports will be canceled and refunded to the original form of payment.
The Brilliant Lady’s previous cruise was also affected by Hurricane Rachel, leading to the cancellation of its scheduled call at Cabo San Lucas. Read about the earlier itinerary change.
