Disney Cruise Line has announced the Disney Imagination, the first ship for Disney Cruise Line Japan. The Wish-class vessel is scheduled to begin sailing in spring 2029.
The ship will be operated by Oriental Land Co., the company behind Tokyo Disney Resort, under license from Disney. The announcement was made at a ceremony in Tokyo attended by executives from both companies.
Disney says the ship will bring its storytelling to sea, with Broadway-style shows, character meet-and-greets, signature dining, dedicated spaces for children and teens, adults-only areas, and onboard hospitality. Ariel and Sebastian from The Little Mermaid will appear on the ship’s stern.
Details about the ship’s onboard experiences and future itineraries have not yet been announced.
The news follows Disney Cruise Line’s recent reveal of the Disney Believe, another Wish-class ship expected to sail from Fort Lauderdale next year. Its offerings are set to include an Encanto stage show, a Frozen-themed dining experience, a Snow White lounge and new accommodations.
