AmaWaterways Adds Peru Land Journey to Colombia Itinerary for 2027

AmaWaterways is adding a six-day Peru journey as a post-cruise extension to its “Magic of Colombia” itinerary. The new experience will be offered on select sailings from April 2027 and on every sailing of the itinerary beginning in 2028.

After disembarking in Cartagena, guests will fly to Lima and continue to Cusco and the Sacred Valley, ending with a privately guided visit to Machu Picchu. The itinerary includes guided visits to Lima’s Miraflores and Barranco neighborhoods, Cusco’s historic center, the former Inca temple of Korikancha and the fortress of Sacsayhuaman. Guests will also explore Ollantaytambo, the Maras salt pans and Moray’s agricultural terraces.

The journey to Machu Picchu will be aboard either the Hiram Bingham, A Belmond Train, or first-class Inca Rail, with a local guide.

Travelers can choose between two hotel packages. The Boutique option includes The Westin Lima Hotel & Convention Center, Tambo del Inka and Palacio del Inka. The Iconic option features Miraflores Park in Lima and Monasterio in Cusco, both Belmond hotels.
