National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions has unveiled the second part of its 2028–29 voyage program, adding itineraries across Latin America and Egypt. The new offerings build on the deployment announced in August and include expanded explorations in the Galápagos, Baja California and the Amazon.
The program emphasizes longer and connected journeys, with smaller vessels giving guests more opportunities to explore destinations up close. “We’re constantly looking for ways to give guests more depth, more access and more opportunities to explore actively,” said Trey Byus, Lindblad Expeditions’ chief expedition officer.
Galápagos and Peru
Eight Galápagos itineraries will range from seven to 17 days, sailing aboard the National Geographic Endeavour II, Islander II, Gemini and Delfina.
In 2029, travelers can also take the continuous “Peru and Galápagos Escape” journey. The itinerary begins with visits to Cusco, the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu, followed by wildlife encounters, active exploration and snorkeling in the Galápagos.
Costa Rica and Panama
A new 15-day “Epic Costa Rica and Panama” voyage links Costa Rica’s Pacific wilderness and Guanacaste highlands with Panama’s rainforests, Pearl Islands and Canal. An expanded eight-day Guanacaste itinerary will give guests additional time to explore the region’s landscapes, wildlife and culture.
Amazon
From November 2028 through October 2029, the “Upper Amazon: A River Expedition” will explore Peru’s Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve aboard the Delfin II and Delfin III.
Baja California
Several voyages will explore Baja California. “Baja California Discovery: Exploring Mexico’s Gulf of California,” aboard the National Geographic Quest, focuses on the region’s desert-and-sea ecosystem. “Baja California: Among the Great Whales” centers on seasonal gray whale encounters in the lagoons, while a holiday departure, “Baja California Holiday: A Living Sea and Desert Isles,” offers another way to experience the region.
Egypt
The “Passage Through Egypt Aboard Oberoi Philae” itinerary travels from Cairo to Abu Simbel on the 44-guest Oberoi Philae. Egyptologists will accompany the voyage, providing insight into 5,000 years of Egyptian history.
