Carnival Cruise Line is marking the theatrical release of The Cat in the Hat with movie-themed activities on board and new additions to its Seuss at Sea program. The celebrations also mark 15 years of the cruise line’s partnership with Dr. Seuss.
In the two weeks before the film’s Nov. 6 premiere, 23 Carnival ships are hosting family activities. Offerings include towering Cat in the Hat inflatables on select open decks, a Hollywood-themed party in ship atriums, themed stateroom surprises and Seuss-inspired Build-A-Bear workshops.
Children can also take part in Cat in the Hat activities at Camp Ocean, including games and challenges, or enjoy movie-themed green-screen photos.
Carnival is adding two interactive experiences to Seuss at Sea. Seuss-a-palooza Game Time brings Dr. Seuss-inspired music, dancing, tongue twisters and games to the main theater. Seuss-a-palooza Family Time invites families to imitate characters, act out scenes from the books and play Seuss-themed charades.
The cruise line is also promoting the film through a co-branded advertisement running online, on television and streaming platforms, and on ships’ in-cabin televisions. The spot is available on YouTube.
