Azamara Unveils 85 New Cruises for 2028–29, with Onward Returning to Africa and the Indian Ocean

Azamara has announced 85 new cruises for its 2028–29 season, running from October 29, 2028, to May 19, 2029. Across its four ships, the program will visit 81 countries and 210 ports, with 94 overnight stays and more than 200 late-night departures.

The itineraries span the Mediterranean, Australia and New Zealand, and Japan during cherry blossom season. Azamara says the new schedule is designed to offer deeper destination experiences, including rare port calls and longer stays.

Africa and the Indian Ocean

After several years away from the region, Azamara Onward will return to Africa and the Indian Ocean, visiting 27 countries. The itinerary includes Jamestown on Saint Helena on December 12, 2028, as well as destinations in the Vanilla Islands, including Seychelles, Mauritius, Réunion and Madagascar.

Mediterranean highlights

Azamara Journey will sail to 65 ports across 16 countries in the Mediterranean, Iberia and the Canary Islands. Some itineraries include three consecutive days in Alexandria, Egypt, with opportunities to visit Cairo and Luxor. Other highlights include an overnight stay in Marseille over Christmas Eve and an overnight in Çanakkale, Turkey.

Australia, New Zealand and Japan

Azamara Pursuit will spend an extended season in the Asia-Pacific region. Planned highlights include a voyage along Western Australia’s remote Kimberley Coast and a Sydney-to-Singapore sailing calling at several Great Barrier Reef gateways.

From late March through May 2029, five consecutive Japan Intensive cruises will offer opportunities to see cherry blossoms across multiple ports.

Mediterranean-to-Caribbean sailings

Before beginning its 195-night 2029 World Cruise, Azamara Quest will operate Mediterranean, transatlantic and Caribbean cruises from October 29, 2028, through January 1, 2029. The program ends with a holiday sailing through the Panama Canal and a New Year’s voyage.

Azamara’s 30 percent Early Booking Bonus is available across all stateroom categories.
