National Geographic-Lindblad Announces Charter of Charaidew II for Unique Brahmaputra River Itineraries in India

National Geographic-Lindblad has recently secured the Charaidew II, a 17-cabin riverboat, for two new itineraries on the Brahmaputra River in India, set to commence in March 2026. This vessel is designed specifically for navigating shallow and low-profile waterways, granting access to regions that were previously unreachable.

The two itineraries introduced by Lindblad are:

1. 18-day India by Land and River: This experience encompasses the historic landmarks of northern India, including the Taj Mahal, while also showcasing the natural beauty of Assam. Guests will explore UNESCO World Heritage sites like the Taj Mahal and Agra’s Red Fort, along with jeep safaris in Bandhavgarh and Kaziranga National Parks, where they can spot wildlife such as Asian one-horned rhinoceroses, Bengal tigers, and Asian elephants.

2. 11-day India Expedition: This journey focuses on eastern India and includes a cruise along the Brahmaputra River, giving travelers the chance to discover riverside communities. It also features a full day in Kolkata, where attendees can immerse themselves in the city’s rich cultural and historical heritage.

The RV Charaidew II boasts 17 air-conditioned cabins, including two Deluxe and eleven Standard cabins located on the upper deck, along with four Standard cabins on the main deck. Additional amenities on board include a generous sundeck, a library, a saloon/bar lounge, and a gym.
