Adora Magic City Ship Celebrates Milestone: 600,000 Passengers in Its First Year!
Adora Magic City, China’s first domestically constructed large cruise ship, has successfully completed its inaugural year, hosting 600,000 passengers across 84 voyages, according to reports from Shanghai Customs.
The ship, which set sail on its maiden voyage on January 1, 2024, quickly made a mark in China’s travel sector, securing an impressive 40% share of the international cruise market within its first year.
On December 29th, more than 3,000 passengers embarked on a six-day New Year voyage from Shanghai Wusongkou Terminal, highlighting the ship’s popularity and capacity. Measuring 324 meters (1062 feet) in length, the Adora Magic City features 2,125 staterooms and can accommodate up to 5,246 guests. Its construction involved collaboration from over 1,000 manufacturers, both local and international.
Looking ahead, China is gearing up to welcome its second large cruise ship by the end of 2026, with plans for international cruises to commence from Port Guangzhou in 2027. This development underscores China’s ambitions to enhance its presence and competitiveness in the global cruise industry.
