MSC World America Begins Final Sea Trials Ahead of Delivery

MSC World America, the newest ship developed by French shipbuilder Chantiers de l’Atlantique, embarked on its final sea trials on February 13, 2025. This crucial phase of testing is a prerequisite to the vessel’s official handover to MSC Cruises.

Captain Dino Sagani, who will command the ship upon its delivery, was present during the tests, collaborating with Olivier Macoin, the shipyard’s chief trial captain. The ship departed from the Loire River estuary for this essential evaluation.

Upon successful completion of the trials, MSC World America is expected to be delivered to MSC Cruises by the end of March. Following its delivery, the ship will make its way across the Atlantic to PortMiami, Florida, where it will have a ceremonial christening at the newly inaugurated terminal AAA.
