Introducing Legend of the Seas: RCI-Royal Caribbean’s Third ICON Vessel

RCI-Royal Caribbean has unveiled its new vessel, the Legend of the Seas, which will be the third addition to the ICON Class fleet. Set to begin operations in Europe in August 2026, the ship will make its debut with 7-night round trips in the Western Mediterranean, starting from Barcelona, Spain. It will then transition to year-round routes in the Caribbean from November 2026, operating out of Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Following its sister ships, the Icon of the Seas and Star of the Seas, the Legend OTS is currently under construction at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland. This latest vessel aims to enhance Royal Caribbean’s offerings, featuring eight distinct neighborhoods, over 40 dining and beverage venues, and a plethora of entertainment options.

Some standout attractions on board will include Crown’s Edge, a thrilling combination of a skywalk and ropes course; Category 6, the largest waterpark at sea; and Royal Bay, the biggest pool on a cruise ship, along with an adults-only area featuring a suspended infinity pool. Family-friendly amenities include Surfside, a neighborhood tailored for younger passengers, and the three-story Ultimate Family Townhouse.

In alignment with Royal Caribbean Group’s sustainability goals, the Legend OTS will be their fourth LNG-powered vessel, equipped with waste heat recovery systems and shore power connectivity.

Bookings for the Legend of the Seas will be available soon, with early access for Crown & Anchor Society members prior to general sales starting on February 20th. Further details about onboard experiences and amenities will be revealed in the upcoming months.
