Tragic News: Taime Downe’s Fiancée from Faster Pussycat Dies in Cruise Ship Accident
The fiancée of Taime Downe, lead singer of the glam metal band Faster Pussycat, is presumed dead after reportedly falling overboard from a Royal Caribbean cruise ship in the Bahamas. Kimberly Burch’s family confirmed her death on March 4, 2025, sharing their sorrow on Facebook and emphasizing her cherished role as a daughter, sister, and aunt.
The incident occurred during an ’80s-themed cruise featuring artists like Tiffany and Chris Cross, where Downe was performing. Burch, 56, allegedly fell off the ship following a heated argument with Downe. The cruise set sail from Miami and was scheduled to return on March 9.
The U.S. Coast Guard launched a search operation approximately 20 miles from Freeport, Bahamas, but could not recover her body. Royal Caribbean Group issued a statement confirming the incident and stated they are assisting Burch’s family during this challenging time.
Burch’s mother shared that Downe had called her to deliver the tragic news. While it remains unclear whether Burch’s fall was accidental or intentional, her mother expressed skepticism regarding any suicidal intentions, citing her daughter’s excitement for the trip as contrary to depressive behaviors. Burch had reportedly been drinking during the cruise, which was unusual for her.
Search operations were eventually suspended by the Royal Bahamas Defense Force.
