CCL Expands Its Fleet with the Addition of Carnival Festivale and Carnival Tropicale

CCL’s Carnival Cruise Line has announced an ambitious 5-year plan called the "Innovation Itinerary," aimed at enhancing its fleet and providing memorable experiences for passengers. President Christine Duffy shared updates during a media event on the Carnival Celebration at PortMiami, covering new ships, destinations, and fleet upgrades.

Currently, Carnival operates a record 29 ships and will soon integrate two more into its Australian fleet. Key developments include the upcoming debut of Celebration Key in July, an expansion of RelaxAway at Half Moon Cay in 2026, and the delivery of two new Excel-class ships in 2027 and 2028. Additionally, three new vessels under a project named Project Ace are slated for delivery in 2029, 2031, and 2033.

The fourth Excel-class ship will be named Carnival Festivale, scheduled to launch in spring 2027 from Port Canaveral, Florida. It will include innovative entertainment zones that celebrate music through immersive venues, alongside dedicated spaces for children and a lively family fun area called Sunsation Point.

The fifth ship, Carnival Tropicale, is set for spring 2028 and will feature similar attractions as Festivale with additional unique concepts. Future enhancements also include an expansion at Mahogany Bay in Roatan, Honduras, set to rename the location Isla Tropicale with added amenities like a pool and beach club.

Carnival’s exclusive new destination, Celebration Key, will host numerous Carnival ships, further enriching passenger experiences. Overall, these moves aim to boost Carnival’s footprint in the cruise industry, promising more options and enhanced experiences for its guests.
