Introducing The Crystal Cup: Where Luxury Cruising Meets Competitive Golf
Crystal Cruises has announced the launch of The Crystal Cup, an amateur golf tournament developed in collaboration with Troon, a well-known golf management company. This innovative initiative merges luxury cruising with competitive golf, culminating in a final event set for October 2025 at Sea Island Golf Club in St. Simons Island, Georgia.
The tournament will feature two-person teams competing in local qualifiers hosted at private clubs throughout the United States, starting in May 2025. Following the local rounds, regional qualifiers will take place at several Troon-affiliated courses, including Aviara Golf Club in California, Tobacco Road Golf Club in North Carolina, and La Cantera Golf Club in Texas. It is expected that around 940 teams, representing a total of 1,880 players, will participate in these preliminary events.
The grand finale at Sea Island Golf Club will provide participants the chance to compete alongside Crystal’s golf ambassadors, Luke Donald and Lexi Thompson. Donald, a former World No. 1 and European Ryder Cup Captain, alongside Thompson, a professional LPGA golfer, will also engage in exclusive events and promotional campaigns throughout the tournament.
Prizes for the tournament include $1,000 cruise vouchers, signed memorabilia, and a grand prize of a 29-night cruise from Singapore to Tokyo onboard the Crystal Symphony. Additionally, leading up to the 2025 Ryder Cup, Crystal will introduce a campaign allowing golf fans the opportunity to win a virtual lesson with Luke Donald.
