Fincantieri Unveils TUI’s Latest Addition: Mein Schiff Flow Launched in Monfalcone, Italy
On May 30, 2025, the shipyard Fincantieri ceremoniously launched the Mein Schiff Flow, the second vessel in TUI’s InTUItion-class, at its Monfalcone facility in Italy. This new cruise ship, weighing in at 160,000 GT, is part of a collaborative venture between TUI AG and Royal Caribbean Cruises, highlighting a commitment to sustainable maritime practices.
The launch event featured notable attendees, including Daniele Fanara, Senior Vice President of New Building and After Sales at Fincantieri; Cristiano Bazzara, Director of the Monfalcone shipyard; and Wybcke Meier, CEO of TUI Cruises.
Designed with environmental sustainability in mind, Mein Schiff Flow will operate on a dual-fuel propulsion system that can utilize both liquefied natural gas (LNG) and marine gas oil (MGO). It is also equipped to use low-emission fuels like bio-LNG or e-LNG, aligning with current environmental standards. The ship incorporates advanced environmental technologies, including Euro 6 standard catalytic converters, a waste heat recovery system, and shore power connectivity, as well as an innovative waste treatment system that thermally converts organic waste into recyclable materials.
Following the delivery of its sister ship, Mein Schiff Relax, in February 2025, Mein Schiff Flow is set to begin her journey in mid-2026. Both vessels represent a strategic collaboration between Fincantieri and TUI Cruises, aiming to boost energy efficiency and minimize the ecological impact within the cruise industry.
