Cairo Launches Inaugural Cruise Egypt Forum to Propel Maritime Tourism Strategy
On June 1-2, 2025, Cairo will host the inaugural Cruise Egypt Forum, themed “Navigate Egyptian Legacy.” This event stands as Egypt’s first dedicated forum for cruise tourism, with the aim of establishing the country as a key player in the global cruise industry by utilizing its strategic location and vast cultural heritage.
The forum is organized in collaboration with the Suez Canal Authority, along with support from regional and international partners. It will bring together high-level government officials, executives from global cruise lines, port operators, logistics companies, and maritime transport experts. The goal is to enhance Egypt’s strategic ports—specifically, Alexandria and Port Said on the Mediterranean, and Safaga and Ain Sokhna on the Red Sea—into critical hubs for international cruise itineraries.
This initiative supports Egypt’s Vision 2030, aiming for 30 million tourists annually by 2028, targeting a growth rate of 25–30% per year.
