Embark on an Epic Journey: Costa Serena’s 2026 World Cruise Destinations Revealed!
Costa Serena is set to embark on an extraordinary 2026 World Cruise, journeying from Tokyo to Buenos Aires, spanning from October 18 to December 22, 2026. This extensive 66-night voyage will showcase 24 ports across 15 countries and 14 islands, covering captivating locations in Southeast Asia, Oceania, Australia, and South America.
Starting in Tokyo, travelers will experience the city’s vibrant pulse before stopping in Keelung to experience Taipei’s mix of tradition and modernity, and the impressive skyline and temples of Hong Kong. In the Philippines, passengers will be enchanted by lush jungles and coral reefs, while a peaceful overnight stay in Bali will offer a chance to connect with the island’s serene atmosphere.
Continuing south, the ship will dock at key Australian ports including Darwin, Cairns, Brisbane, and Sydney, allowing for an exploration of Australia’s diverse wildlife and stunning coastlines. The Pacific crossings include stops in Nouméa and Lifou in New Caledonia, Suva in Fiji, Tonga, and Rarotonga in the Cook Islands, terminating in Tahiti.
Uniquely, this voyage will provide rare access to remote destinations such as Pitcairn and Easter Island, which are seldom visited by cruise ships. The tour will finally navigate through the dramatic landscapes of Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego, stopping at San Antonio in Chile, which serves as the gateway to Santiago. Following this, it will guide passengers through Puerto Montt, Puerto Chacabuco, and Punta Arenas, before rounding Cape Horn and culminating in an overnight at Ushuaia—the world’s southernmost city—prior to arriving in Puerto Madryn, where guests can view whales and penguins before docking in Buenos Aires on December 22.
This modular itinerary can also be taken in segments: from Tokyo to Sydney (26 days), Sydney to San Antonio (27 days), or San Antonio to Buenos Aires (15 days).
Before setting sail, Costa Serena is scheduled for a comprehensive refit in November 2025, part of a substantial EUR 200 million fleet modernization plan. This refurbishment will enhance guest experience with updated public spaces, redesigned suites, pools, bars, and new dining options, including the Archipelago featuring menus from Michelin-star chefs.
Post-refit, the Costa Serena will embark on its world voyage in late 2026, sail in South America during winter 2027, and transition to Mediterranean routes in summer 2027.
