Celebration Key Welcomes Grand Bahama in Anticipation of Carnival Vista’s Arrival

On July 12, leaders from Grand Bahama, including community members and government officials, had the opportunity to board the Carnival Vista for an exclusive preview of Celebration Key, a new private destination by Carnival Cruise Line. This preview marked the lead-up to the destination’s grand opening on July 19, where the Carnival Vista will make its first official visit.

During the tour, attendees explored the island’s five themed areas, such as the Pearl Cove Beach Club, intended for adults, and Starfish Lagoon, which caters to families. Notable attractions include impressive water slides and what is touted as the Caribbean’s largest freshwater lagoons. There are also plans for over 30 dining options and a retail space featuring local crafts.

Carnival’s President, Christine Duffy, praised Celebration Key as a significant development for Grand Bahama, emphasizing its potential to create hundreds of sustainable jobs while fostering Carnival’s partnership with the local community.

The inauguration ceremony for Celebration Key will be broadcast live on Carnival’s Facebook page at 10:00 a.m. ET on July 19. Following the opening, an expansion to the pier is scheduled for 2026, which will allow for the simultaneous docking of up to ten ships from various U.S. ports.

In its inaugural year, Celebration Key is projected to attract around two million visitors through twenty Carnival ships, providing a substantial economic boost to Grand Bahama. This initiative aims to enhance the visitor experience while making a meaningful impact on the surrounding community, blending entertainment with local benefit in a Caribbean setting.
