Margaritaville Unveils Beachcomber: The Largest Vessel in Costa Fortuna’s Fleet
Margaritaville at Sea has announced the launch of its newest cruise ship, the Beachcomber, which becomes the largest vessel in the fleet and serves as its new flagship. Formerly known as the Costa Fortuna, this impressive ship boasts a size of over 100,000 GT and can accommodate around 3,450 passengers, greatly surpassing the capacities of its sister ships, Paradise and Islander.
The Beachcomber will feature popular venues recognized by passengers from previous ships, including the 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill, Cheeseburger in Paradise, Hemisphere Dancer piano lounge, and the License to Chill bar. Additionally, the ship will introduce fifteen new onboard experiences and recreational spaces designed to embody the relaxed, island-themed atmosphere that Margaritaville is known for.
Martha Brabham, Head of Design, stated that the vessel’s design draws inspiration from vintage surf art and nostalgic beach scenes, aligning with the brand’s carefree tropical image. Although specific details about the Beachcomber’s homeport and itineraries are still pending, it is anticipated to operate from Florida, catering to destinations in the Bahamas and Caribbean.
This expansion further solidifies Margaritaville’s dedication to large-scale, tropical-themed cruises, enhancing guest experiences and increasing capacity within its iconic island-lifestyle framework.
