Carnival Liberty Sets Sail from New Orleans After Exciting Drydock Refurbishment
Carnival Liberty has resumed operations from New Orleans after undergoing an extensive drydock refurbishment that includes various significant enhancements. This refurbishment has allowed the ship to join its sister vessel, Carnival Valor, which received similar upgrades.
Starting in mid-July, Carnival Liberty will embark on week-long Caribbean cruises. Among the notable updates are a newly established Heroes Tribute Bar & Lounge dedicated to U.S. military personnel and their families, as well as an expanded WaterWorks aqua park featuring new waterslides and a mini-golf course.
Additionally, the spa has been redesigned as the Cloud9 Spa with improved décor, beauty stations, an Elemis Boutique, and upgraded fitness facilities, including new steam rooms and saunas. The casino has been revamped with additional slot machines and table games while youth areas, including Camp Ocean and Club O2, have been modernized.
Carnival Liberty now features a new Dream Studio for photo sessions, an improved Carnival Adventures desk for excursions, and refreshed retail spaces such as a new High Spirits liquor store. Accessibility was a priority, leading to wider pathways and upgraded amenities throughout public spaces and select cabins.
The ship will operate regular 7-night itineraries from Port NOLA to the Western Caribbean and Bahamas, with its inaugural call at Carnival’s private destination, Celebration Key, scheduled for July 23rd.
