Brilliant Lady Completes Virgin Voyages Fleet Circle at Portsmouth: A Milestone in Maritime Luxury

On August 18, 2025, the newest ship in the Virgin Voyages fleet, the Brilliant Lady, made her first arrival in the United Kingdom at Portsmouth International Port. This marks a significant milestone for the port, which is now the only harbor in the world to have hosted all ships from Virgin Voyages’ "Lady" series, including Scarlet Lady, Valiant Lady, Resilient Lady, and now Brilliant Lady.

The Brilliant Lady will be docked for four days, allowing for guest events and preparations before embarking on her inaugural commercial journey to New York on August 21. During her stay, the ship will hold a careers briefing for 20 local educators, highlighting onboard job opportunities. Additionally, representatives from the International Chamber of Shipping and the International Underwriting Association will tour the ship to observe its operations.

Since the launch of Scarlet Lady in 2021, Portsmouth’s relationship with Virgin Voyages has deepened, significantly increasing cruise traffic to the port. More than 72,000 guests have boarded or disembarked from Virgin Voyages ships in Portsmouth, enhancing the port’s economic contribution. Each visit is estimated to bring in around GBP 1.5 million through fees and local spending, with the port expecting an annual profit of approximately GBP 10.3 million for essential municipal services.
