Coral Expeditions Expands Global Horizons: Exciting International Cruises Planned for 2026-2027

Coral Expeditions, an Australian cruise line, has announced an exciting lineup of new international expedition voyages for the 2026–2027 season. Their fleet of Australian-flagged vessels will explore more remote areas than ever, including New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Australia’s Kimberley region, Tasmania, and the South Pacific. The fleet consists of three ships: Coral Discoverer, Coral Expeditions 1, and Coral Expeditions 2.

These new itineraries aim to immerse passengers in the unique cultures and stunning landscapes of destinations like Papua New Guinea, Melanesia, the Spice Islands, and New Zealand. Notably, the program features a significant boost in accessibility to Papua New Guinea, with four new itineraries:

1. Beyond Frontiers of Papua New Guinea (Rabaul to Port Moresby)
2. Passage Through the Melanesian Arc (Port Moresby to Port Vila)
3. Papua New Guinea Discoverer (Madang to Cairns)
4. Frontier Lands of Papua New Guinea (Cairns to Rabaul)

These voyages will take place from October to November 2026 and extend into 2027. Following the Papua New Guinea voyages, the fleet will return to New Zealand for December and January sailings. These routes will cover the east coast of New Zealand’s South Island, including highlights like the Sounds and Fiordland.

The international expansion also includes expeditions through the Indonesian archipelago, with 18-night journeys through places such as Raja Ampat and the Spice Islands, departing from Darwin and Sorong. Guests will experience rich marine life, traditional cultures, and remarkable geography across Flores, Komodo, and further into the Spice Islands.
