Celebrity Unveils Plans for First River Cruises in 2027 with Two New Luxury Ships

Celebrity Cruises is set to enter the river cruising market with the launch of two new luxury ships, the Celebrity Compass and Celebrity Seeker, beginning in 2027. These ships will offer seven-day European itineraries along the Rhine and Danube rivers, making stops in various countries including Hungary, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, and the Netherlands.

The ships are designed with innovation in mind, featuring four decks and 86 cabins that include ample outdoor space, an infinity-edge plunge pool, and floating dining pods. Laura Hodges Bethge, President of Celebrity Cruises, noted the ships’ innovative design will enhance guests’ experience and provide proximity to the destinations.

Priority booking opened recently but was quickly closed due to overwhelming demand. Public bookings are expected to begin later this month. The upper deck, known as Sunset Park, will offer shade structures along with a bar and grill, while the second and third decks will include relaxation and dining areas, featuring popular venues such as the Martini Bar and Café Al Bacio.

Cabins are outfitted with king-sized beds, and most categories allow fresh air access. The “Infinite Balcony” rooms come with retractable wall-to-wall windows for an immersive experience. Other features include the Skylight Infinite Balcony Suite with an opening ceiling window and dedicated outdoor spaces in several room types.

The inaugural season will comprise 33 seven-night sailings, with prices starting at $2,999 for River View cabins and reaching up to $8,999 for the premium Vista Balcony Suite. Reservations include meals, select beverages, Wi-Fi, and one shore excursion daily, with additional luxuries for suite guests.
