Hapag-Lloyd Unveils Exciting 2027 Mediterranean-South Pacific Itineraries for Europa 2

Hapag-Lloyd Cruises has announced a significant overhaul of its Europa 2 itinerary for the summer season of 2027. The revised voyages, spanning from June 2nd to August 3rd, will take the luxury vessel away from its initially planned routes in the Red Sea due to changing geopolitical conditions. Instead, the Europa 2 will navigate from Southeast Asia through the Indian Ocean and along the African coastline, ultimately reaching the western Mediterranean.

The new routes highlight the Europa 2’s journey starting from Hong Kong to Singapore and extending across various captivating destinations, including Reunion Island, Maputo, Durban, and Cape Town. The itinerary includes a journey along Namibia’s coast, a stop at the remote St. Helena island, and calls at the Cape Verde archipelago before heading towards Tenerife. From Tenerife, the ship will reconnect with its historic route from Civitavecchia to Palma de Mallorca, commencing on August 3rd, 2027.

While the shift in plans disrupted original bookings, guests were promptly informed and presented with rebooking alternatives. The Europa 2, often celebrated as the "best ship in the world" according to Insight Guides, will feature enhanced wellness programming—specifically, the IN2BALANCE format—during select sailings. The ship will also unveil newly designed lounges on Deck 11 for relaxing sunlit experiences.
