Hapag-Lloyd Unveils Exciting New Mediterranean-South Pacific Itineraries for Europa 2 in 2027

Hapag-Lloyd Cruises has announced an exciting shift for the MS Europa 2, planning four new itineraries for the summer season of 2027. These voyages will take place from June 2nd to August 3rd, showcasing a range of destinations from Southeast Asia through the Indian Ocean and along the African coastline to the western Mediterranean. This change comes as the cruise line has decided to replace previously scheduled routes in the Red Sea due to evolving geopolitical circumstances.

The journeys will begin in early summer with departures from Southeast Asia, navigating from Hong Kong to Singapore, and then across the Indian Ocean to several unique spots including Reunion Island, Maputo, Durban, and Cape Town. The itinerary will also explore Namibia’s coastline, the remote St. Helena, and the Cape Verde archipelago before arriving in Tenerife. From there, the journey will progress into the western Mediterranean, with stops in Andalusia, the Balearic Islands, Sardinia, and Corsica.

Guests who had made original bookings on the redirected routes were informed in advance and offered rebooking options. Notably, the Europa 2 has been recognized as the "best ship in the world" by Insight Guides Cruising & Cruise Ships and will include special programming during two voyages, focusing on the IN2BALANCE wellness format—integrating fitness, relaxation, and mindfulness.
