Aurora Expeditions Launches 2027 Small Ship Cruise Season in Australia

Aurora Expeditions, an Australian cruise line, has announced the opening of sales for its 2027 cruise season, which consists of 21 voyages across 22 countries. The itineraries will explore diverse regions including the Mediterranean, Adriatic, European Atlantic and African coasts, Central America, as well as Northern Europe, the UK, and Ireland. This season will feature three vessels: the Greg Mortimer, Sylvia Earle, and the upcoming Douglas Mawson, which are specially designed to access smaller ports lacking suitable facilities for larger ships.

Each cruise will feature "Master Storytellers" such as historians, genealogists, and art experts who will provide enriching lectures and insights into the destinations. Passengers will have the option for pre- and post-cruise city stays, with "Your Choice" excursions available, which can include activities like wine tastings or historical tours.

The 2027 program aims to highlight UNESCO World Heritage sites and major ports, including Dubrovnik and Nice, along with charming less-visited locales such as the Trulli houses in Alberobello, the Isle of Lewis in Scotland, and the olive groves in Istria. Notable new cruises feature routes like the Mediterranean Feast from Valletta to Barcelona, La Dolce Vita from Nice to Rome, and Treasures of the Adriatic from Valletta to Zagreb. Voyage highlights also include transits through the Panama Canal and explorations along the French and Italian Rivieras, with trips planned to Ireland, Portugal, and Northern Europe.

Aurora Expeditions emphasizes the benefits of small ship cruising, such as the ability to dock in smaller ports, more engaging excursions with local experts, and an overall congenial atmosphere with an average of 130 passengers per cruise. Additionally, select voyages will offer discounts of up to 25%, and 10 solo staterooms will be available on each sailing without a single supplement.
