Hapag-Lloyd Cruises has announced changes for its Europa 2 ship’s summer 2027 itineraries. The vessel will embark on four newly designed voyages from June 2 to August 3, replacing prior plans for routes in the Red Sea due to shifting geopolitical circumstances.
The revised itineraries will take passengers from Southeast Asia to the Indian Ocean and along the African coastline, concluding with a return to the western Mediterranean starting August 3, 2027. The journey will include stops in places such as Civitavecchia in Italy and Palma de Mallorca in Spain.
Passengers whose original bookings were disrupted have been informed in advance and provided with rebooking options. The Europa 2 will set sail from destinations including Hong Kong and Singapore, navigating through the Indian Ocean to Reunion Island and various South African ports like Maputo, Durban, and Cape Town. Following this, the route continues along the Namibian coast and visits the remote island of St. Helena before reaching the Cape Verde archipelago and Tenerife.
In addition to scenic locations, the Europa 2 is recognized as “best ship in the world” by Insight Guides Cruising & Cruise Ships. Notably, it will feature two voyages that incorporate the IN2BALANCE wellness program, enhancing relaxation, fitness, and mindfulness during sea days. Newly outfitted lounges on Deck 11 will offer guests peaceful spaces to enjoy sunny days at sea.
