CCL-Carnival Expands Galveston Operations with a New 4-Ship Deployment for 2027-2028

CCL-Carnival Cruise Line has announced an expansion of its operations from Galveston, Texas, during the 2027-2028 season. This expansion will include four ships, marking the first time that the Carnival Horizon and Carnival Spirit will homeport in Galveston. They will join the Carnival Breeze and Carnival Jubilee, providing a diverse range of itineraries and increased sailing capacity.

The Carnival Horizon is set to begin its cruise service on May 19, 2027, with an inaugural 8-day cruise to Montego Bay, Grand Cayman, and Isla Tropicale. Following this, it will offer various 4- and 5-day Western Caribbean cruises, featuring numerous stops at Cozumel and Progreso throughout its more than 70 scheduled departures from May 2027 to April 2028.

The Carnival Spirit will transition to Galveston after completing its Alaska season and a Panama Canal crossing from Seattle on September 25, 2027. It will start offering 4- to 6-day cruises starting October 11, 2027, with stops at Cozumel, Progreso, and Belize, as well as several 10-day Caribbean voyages.

Beginning in May 2027, the Carnival Breeze will operate a new alternating itinerary of 7-day cruises between the Western and Eastern Caribbean. Notable ports for these cruises will include Celebration Key, Key West, Nassau, Montego Bay, and Isla Tropicale. Special holiday-themed cruises will also be part of the schedule.

The Carnival Jubilee, the largest of the four ships with a capacity of over 6,400 passengers, will continue its service with 6- and 8-day sailings from Galveston. These itineraries will visit Cozumel and Isla Tropicale for 6-day trips and include many stops across the Bahamas for 8-day cruises.
