CCL-Carnival Announces Exciting 4-Ship Deployment from Galveston Homeporting in 2027-2028

CCL-Carnival Cruise Line has announced an expansion of its homeport operations in Galveston, Texas, for the 2027-2028 sailing season, introducing a total of four ships for year-round service. This marks the first occasion that the Carnival Horizon and Carnival Spirit will be based in Galveston, alongside the Carnival Breeze and Carnival Jubilee. The expanded deployment aims to enhance capacity and diversify itineraries, including new routes to the Bahamas and extended Carnival Journeys cruises.

The Carnival Horizon is set to launch its Galveston operations on May 19, 2027, with an inaugural 8-day cruise to Montego Bay, Grand Cayman, and Isla Tropicale. Following this, it will offer a series of 4- and 5-day cruises to popular Western Caribbean destinations, including Cozumel and Progreso. This Vista-class ship accommodates around 4,000 guests and features multiple dining options, family activities, and entertainment.

After completing its Alaska season, the Carnival Spirit will reposition to Galveston with a voyage that includes stops in Cabo San Lucas, Puntarenas, and Cartagena before its Texas debut on September 25, 2027. Starting October 11, 2027, it will operate 4- to 6-day Western Caribbean cruises with itineraries that include Cozumel, Progreso, and Belize, as well as 10-day Caribbean routes. The Spirit-class ship holds over 2,000 passengers and offers a variety of dining and leisure options.

The Carnival Breeze will introduce a new 7-day cruise program in May 2027, alternating between Western and Eastern Caribbean itineraries. Ports of call will include Celebration Key, Key West, and Nassau, alongside a special 8-day Christmas cruise and two 14-day Carnival Journeys voyages. The Breeze can accommodate nearly 4,000 passengers and is equipped with extensive recreational and dining facilities.

Lastly, the Carnival Jubilee, designed for over 6,400 guests, will maintain its schedule of 6- and 8-day cruises from Galveston, featuring destinations like Cozumel and the Bahamas. This LNG-powered Excel-class flagship includes attractions such as an onboard roller coaster and numerous dining options.

With these developments, CCL reinforces its position as the largest cruise operator from Texas, marking a significant commitment to the Galveston port through the 2027-2028 season. Further information about the broader deployment schedule for that period will be released soon.
