Polar Latitudes and Albatros Expeditions Join Forces in Strategic Merger

Polar Latitudes Expeditions and Albatros Expeditions have announced a merger that will combine their operations under a single brand, set to launch by mid-October 2025. The newly unified fleet will include four vessels: Albatros’ Ocean Albatros, Ocean Victory, and Seaventure, along with Polar Latitudes’ Ocean Nova. This merger aims to broaden the variety of itineraries, ship experiences, accommodations, and expedition programs for travelers.

By merging resources and expertise, the partnership intends to strengthen its foothold in the polar expedition market. Albatros brings valuable experience in Arctic and Antarctic expeditions, while Polar Latitudes offers leadership in immersive Antarctic voyages and citizen science initiatives.

Patrick Shaw, the current CEO of Albatros Expeditions, will head the new company, while John McKeon, founder of Polar Latitudes, will serve as Chairman of the Board. The newly established brand will operate as Polar Latitudes Expeditions, maintaining dual headquarters in Vermont, USA, and Copenhagen, Denmark, along with additional regional offices in Germany, China, Australia, and the UK.

The aim is to emphasize operational reliability and sustainable practices while providing high-quality experiences for both passengers and trade partners.
