Impact of Strong Winds: Altered Ferry Sailings Near the Isle of Man

Ferry services between the Isle of Man and north-western England have been disrupted due to strong winds, as reported by the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company. The morning sailing from Douglas to Heysham and its afternoon return trip have been cancelled.

Additionally, the flagship ferry, Manxman, has adjusted its schedule, departing earlier than planned, having moved its evening sailing to 05:00 p.m. BST, nearly three hours ahead of schedule. The 03:00 p.m. BST sailing of the fast-craft Manannan to Liverpool, as well as its return to Douglas, has also been cancelled.

The company has cautioned that further sailings could be impacted into the next day, September 16th, 2025, depending on the worsening weather conditions. Passengers are advised to check the Steam Packet’s sailing status page for the latest updates.
