Virgin Voyages Unveils Tiered Fare Structure: What You Need to Know

Virgin Voyages is set to launch a new fare structure known as VoyageFair Choices on October 7th, 2025. This initiative aims to enhance transparency, flexibility, and pricing comparability for cruisers while adhering to their existing “Always Included Luxury” service model.

The fare model came about after gathering insights from both passengers and travel advisors. According to the company, this change is intended to bring clarity to cruise bookings, similar to standards in the airline and hotel industries. Unlike temporary promotions, this model is a permanent adjustment in how fares are structured, giving travelers more options and clearer differentiation in service levels.

Virgin Voyages will offer three fare tiers for Sea Terrace staterooms and lower:

• Base Fare: The entry-level option, which includes a non-refundable policy, simplified WiFi for one device, and the ability to make dining reservations 15 days ahead of departure.

• Essential Fare: This tier maintains the current offerings, providing broader WiFi access, a 45-day advance for dining reservations, and added flexibility through future voyage credits and name changes.

• Premium Fare: This option features a 60-day dining reservation window, enhanced WiFi for streaming, drinks credits, and priority customer support pre-voyage.

For guests booking RockStar and Mega RockStar Quarters, the primary enhancement is a 120-day dining reservation window, while all existing perks—including exclusive venues, priority boarding, and dedicated services—remain intact.

Additionally, Virgin Voyages will separate service gratuities from the fare, making it a visible line item at booking. Gratuities are set at US$20 per person per night if prepaid or US$22 when paid onboard, with the overall trip costs unchanged, and no extra tips expected once gratuities are settled.

The cruise line has reassured guests that core inclusions, valued over US$1,000 per passenger, such as various dining options, group fitness classes, WiFi, beverages like soda and water, and entertainment, will continue to be part of all fare categories. This revised pricing structure is designed to empower travelers to choose the balance of cost and benefits that best aligns with their needs while upholding Virgin Voyages’ established service standards.
