Storyland Studios to Create New Pavilion at MSC Ocean Cay’s Marine Conservation Center
Storyland Studios has announced a design collaboration with MSC Cruises and the MSC Foundation to create a new pavilion at the Marine Conservation Center located at Ocean Cay, Bahamas. This center, which opened its doors in April 2025, plays a crucial role in supporting research, education, and coral restoration efforts.
The Marine Conservation Center serves as a vital hub for marine biologists, scientists, students, and visitors, housing interactive pavilions, a lecture hall, a bio-lab, and a land-based coral nursery. It is also the operational center for the MSC Foundation’s Super Coral Reefs program.
The pavilion’s design aims to engage a diverse audience, including visitors, donors, and partners, by translating complex scientific work into inspiring and accessible experiences. Storyland Studios will bring its expertise in destination and experience design to ensure that the pavilion aligns with MSC’s overarching destination development philosophy.
Key considerations in the design process will include views, pathways, and visitor flow, all crafted to enhance storytelling and promote environmental stewardship. The MSC Foundation has highlighted that this new pavilion will bolster the Marine Conservation Center’s role as an educational hub, allowing tens of thousands of Ocean Cay visitors to interact more significantly with coral ecosystems and understanding conservation challenges.
