MSC Unveils Exciting Bellissima Deployment Plans for East Asia (2025-2026)
MSC Bellissima is set to significantly expand its operations in East Asia during the 2025-2026 season, furthering MSC Cruises’ commitment to the region. The ship will feature itineraries covering Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and China, allowing travelers to visit some of the continent’s most vibrant ports.
The 18-deck MSC Bellissima, which can accommodate over 4,500 passengers, launched its latest Asian operations with a winter season from Shanghai in January 2025, offering short voyages of 4 to 5 nights focused on Japanese and Korean ports. Destinations such as Fukuoka, Sasebo, and Jeju were part of the itinerary, providing guests with unique scenic and cultural experiences. These trips aim to attract both first-time cruise passengers and seasoned travelers looking for variety.
Once its winter program concludes, Bellissima will reposition to other Asian ports, before returning to Shanghai by mid-July for an extended summer season that lasts until early September. This segment will include new ports such as Okinawa, Busan, and Incheon, thereby enhancing the array of cultural and coastal experiences available to passengers during the warmer months.
In October, the Bellissima will also commence sailing from Tokyo, focusing on shorter, 4-night itineraries that feature stops at Ishigaki and Miyakojima—both renowned for their beautiful landscapes. This approach is designed for travelers interested in shorter cruises or as an introduction to cruise travel. The trend is expected to continue into early 2026 with additional departures from Naha and Keelung.
The ship is also scheduled to return to China after the winter season in Japan and Taiwan, reinforcing its presence in the Chinese market with a repositioning cruise back to Shanghai. This sustained focus on the Asian market highlights the growing demand for cruise vacations, particularly among passengers from China’s coastal cities.
With a displacement of 167,600 tons, MSC Bellissima is currently the largest cruise ship operating in Asia. Built in 2019 at Chantiers de l’Atlantique, the ship has previously served various regions, including Europe and the Middle East, before shifting to year-round operations in Asia in 2023. The vessel features an extensive array of dining options, entertainment venues, and recreational spaces to ensure an enriching onboard experience for all guests.
