ACL Launches American Symphony for Groundbreaking Gulf Coast Cruises

American Cruise Lines is set to introduce a pioneering Gulf Coast cruise itinerary in March 2026, featuring the American Symphony, a vessel designed to accommodate 180 guests. The inaugural cruise, which is already sold out, will journey from New Orleans to Pensacola, with stops at six ports: Gulfport, Biloxi/Ocean Springs, Mobile, Pensacola, and back to New Orleans.

Passengers will have approximately twelve hours to explore each port, allowing them to engage with the region’s rich culture, history, and natural beauty. Alexa Paolella, the Public Relations Manager of American Cruise Lines, expressed enthusiasm about the Gulf Coast’s unique appeal and the opportunities it presents for small-ship voyages.

For the Port of Gulfport, this inclusion in the itinerary signifies a significant achievement. Jon Nass, CEO and Executive Director, highlighted that partnering with American Cruise Lines reinforces Gulfport’s reputation as both an operational industrial port and a welcoming destination for tourists, which is expected to bolster local tourism.

The first sailing is set for March 13, 2026, and it will feature excursions such as shrimp-boat demonstrations in Biloxi, visits to historical sites in Ocean Springs, and a tour of Fort Massachusetts on Ship Island.

Additional sailings are also planned for December 2026, March 2027, and December 2027. This new route aims to bring an exploratory small-ship cruising experience to an area traditionally dominated by larger shipping vessels.
