Isle of Man Sees Record Growth in Cruise Season for 2025

The Isle of Man experienced its most successful cruise season ever in 2025, with a 21% increase in passenger numbers compared to the previous year. Between April and September, the island welcomed 47 cruise ships, 9 of which made their inaugural visits, bringing in a total of 26,357 passengers. This figure surpasses the previous record of 21,679 set in 2024.

Visit Isle of Man attributed this growth to an enhanced international profile in the cruise market. The economic impact of this season was estimated at GBP 2.3 million, derived from passenger spending across various sectors, including tourism and retail. This estimate was based on an average spend of GBP 80 per passenger during their shore visits, as reported by Cruise Britain.

Visitors participated in various day excursions, including heritage tours, guided walks, and rides on the island’s historic electric and steam railways. The organization plans to continue its collaboration with cruise operators and industry partners to support ongoing growth.

Sarah Maltby MHK, who oversees Tourism and Motorsport, stated that the surge in cruise traffic provides significant economic benefits to local businesses and enhances the Isle of Man’s visibility in the global tourism landscape. This increase reinforces the island’s status as a key destination within British Isles cruise itineraries.
