Port San Diego Kicks Off 2025-2026 Cruise Season with Holland America Line

The Port of San Diego has officially kicked off its 2025-2026 cruise season in partnership with Holland America Line (HAL), introducing a schedule of 107 voyages that are projected to bring approximately 389,000 passengers to the area. Port Commission Chair Danielle Moore expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, emphasizing its role in activating the waterfront, supporting local jobs, and enticing visitors to explore the region’s amenities.

HAL’s vice president of revenue management, Dan Rough, highlighted San Diego’s appealing features, including its convenience, pleasant weather, and proximity to sought-after destinations, making it a favored embarkation point for various cruise experiences. The cruise season is estimated to inject nearly $56 million into the San Diego economy, enhancing the local tourism sector.

The inaugural cruise of this season arrived in San Diego on September 19, featuring the Serenade of the Seas from Royal Caribbean International (RCI). Shortly thereafter, the Zaandam set sail on a 51-day voyage across the South Pacific, followed by the Caribbean Princess from Princess Cruises on September 29.

Additionally, the season’s schedule showcases contributions from Disney Cruise Line (DCL), Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), Viking Cruises, Silversea Cruises, and others. This season marks a significant milestone for NCL as it designates San Diego as a homeport for the first time, with 21 scheduled calls by the Norwegian Jade.

Looking ahead, port officials are optimistic about the next season, anticipating up to 190 cruise calls and as many as 800,000 passengers due to expanded services from Royal Caribbean and Disney.

San Diego currently ranks as California’s third busiest cruise port, following Long Beach and Los Angeles, and is known as the nearest West Coast port for voyages toward the Mexican Riviera. The city’s two cruise terminals, located at B Street and Broadway Piers, offer immediate access to downtown attractions for passengers disembarking from their cruises.
