ACL’s American Symphony Set to Pioneer Exciting Gulf Coast Cruises
American Cruise Lines is set to launch a new Gulf Coast itinerary in March 2026, featuring the American Symphony, a ship that accommodates 180 guests. This exciting route will connect New Orleans and Pensacola with stops at six ports, including Gulfport, Biloxi/Ocean Springs, and Mobile. The inaugural sailing has already sold out, indicating strong interest in this unique cruise experience.
Passengers will enjoy approximately twelve hours ashore at each destination, allowing them to immerse themselves in the rich culture, history, and beauty of the Gulf Coast. American’s Public Relations Manager, Alexa Paolella, highlighted that the region’s stunning shorelines and vibrant communities create a perfect setting for small-ship cruising.
For Gulfport, this newfound inclusion in the cruise itinerary is significant. Jon Nass, CEO and Executive Director of the port, expressed that the collaboration with American Cruise Lines signifies Gulfport’s role as both an industrial hub and a welcoming destination for travelers. The arrival of cruise guests is anticipated to enhance local tourism by showcasing the charm and hospitality of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
The Gulf Coast cruise is scheduled to begin on March 13, 2026. Activities during the cruise will include shrimp-boat demonstrations in Biloxi, visits to historical landmarks in Ocean Springs, and excursions to Fort Massachusetts on Ship Island.
Additional sailings are already planned for December 2026, March 2027, and December 2027, bringing a new chapter of small-ship exploration to a region traditionally serviced by bulk and tanker vessels.
