MSC Preziosa Sets Sail for South America: The Repositioning Cruise Journey Begins!

The MSC Preziosa embarked on an exciting journey from Germany earlier this month, marking the start of its repositioning cruise to South America. After leaving Hamburg on October 5, 2025, the ship is set to open the cruise season in Brazil with a trans-Atlantic crossing to Santos.

This 21-night voyage will include stops at various ports, including Southampton, Le Havre, La Coruña, Gijón, St. Cruz de Tenerife, and Funchal, before it reaches South American shores. Once the vessel docks in Brazil, it will visit historic cities such as Salvador, Ilhéus, Búzios, and Rio de Janeiro.

The MSC Preziosa will be the first ship to arrive in Brazil for regular cruises in this season. It will commence a series of itineraries from Santos starting October 26, 2025, featuring cruises ranging from three to eight nights. These itineraries will not only cover Brazilian destinations like Salvador and Angra dos Reis but will also extend to ports in Argentina and Uruguay, such as Buenos Aires and Montevideo.

Additionally, the MSC Preziosa will introduce a new homeport for MSC Cruises in Balneário Camboriú, enhancing the cruising experience in the region. Throughout the 2025-26 season, the ship will be joined by others in MSC’s fleet, including the MSC Seaview, MSC Fantasia, MSC Sinfonia, and MSC Armonia, all offering diverse itineraries from numerous ports across Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay.

In parallel, Costa Cruises will also operate in South America during the 2025-26 season, with the Costa Diadema and Costa Favolosa catering to local markets. Other cruise lines such as Princess, Oceania, Celebrity, and Silversea are also set to offer itineraries in the vibrant South American region.
