MSC Preziosa Sets Sail for New Horizons: Repositioning Cruise to South America

The MSC Preziosa has embarked on a repositioning cruise to South America, departing from Germany earlier this month. This voyage marks the beginning of the cruise season in Brazil, as the ship is on a trans-Atlantic crossing to Santos.

After leaving Hamburg on October 5, 2025, the 21-night journey will include stops in France, England, Spain, and Portugal, with ports of call such as Southampton, Le Havre, La Coruña, Gijón, St. Cruz de Tenerife, and Funchal.

Following its Atlantic crossing, the MSC Preziosa will visit Brazilian destinations including Salvador, Ilhéus, Búzios, and Rio de Janeiro. Notably, it will be the first ship to arrive in Brazil for regular cruises of the season, with a series of itineraries set to commence from Santos on October 26, 2025.

These upcoming cruises will range from three to eight nights, featuring various Brazilian locations such as Salvador and Angra dos Reis, while also reaching ports in Argentina and Uruguay, including Buenos Aires and Montevideo.

Additionally, the MSC Preziosa will introduce a new homeport for MSC Cruises in the region at Balneário Camboriú. Alongside the MSC Preziosa, other vessels like the MSC Seaview, MSC Fantasia, MSC Sinfonia, and MSC Armonia will join the fleet later in the season, expanding operations from multiple Brazilian, Argentine, and Uruguayan ports.

In the 2025-26 cruise season, Costa Cruises will also operate in South America with ships like the Costa Diadema and Costa Favolosa. Other cruise lines such as Princess, Oceania, Celebrity, and Silversea will offer itineraries in the region as well.
