MSC Explora Journeys Launches ‘Currents of Connection’ Caribbean Adventure
MSC’s luxury cruise brand, Explora Journeys, will celebrate the festive season in the Caribbean under the theme “Currents of Connection.” This initiative will feature voyages on EXPLORA I and EXPLORA II that focus on reflection, discovery, and reconnection. The program, spanning the Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve period, includes sailings that range from seven to seventeen nights.
The theme is inspired by ocean currents, symbolizing connections between distant shores and the passage of time. Explora Journeys aims for “Currents of Connection” to create meaningful interactions among guests, destinations, and time itself without the rush typical of holiday travel.
Onboard experiences will blend traditional holiday festivities with modern elements. Guests can expect gala dinners, wellness sessions emphasizing gratitude, gingerbread house-making, mixology workshops, live music, and outdoor movie screenings. The approach encourages guests to take their time and appreciate both onboard activities and excursions at port.
The Caribbean itineraries will visit ports celebrated for their natural beauty and rich culture. Destinations include Charlotte Amalie in St. Thomas, where guests can swim at Magen’s Bay or shop at local markets; Terre-de-Haut in Les Saintes, Guadeloupe, known for its pastel houses; Bridgetown in Barbados, famous for its colonial architecture and rum heritage; Fort-de-France in Martinique; and Basseterre in St. Kitts & Nevis, offering attractions such as reef kayaking and volcanic hikes.
A highlight of the holiday season will be a New Year’s Eve sailing featuring fireworks over San Juan, Puerto Rico. Guests will gather at sea to welcome the new year in an atmosphere designed for relaxation and celebration rather than haste.
