Scenic Unveils the 205-Metre Scenic Ikon: A New Era for Polar and Warm Sea Cruises
Scenic Group has officially announced its upcoming ultra-luxury expedition yacht, the Scenic Ikon, set to debut in April 2028. Measuring 205 meters, the vessel will host up to 270 guests in 135 all-veranda suites, which vary in size from 34 to 250 square meters.
The Scenic Ikon, constructed by the Group’s own shipbuilding division, holds a Polar Code 6 rating and features an Ice Class 1A Super reinforced hull, enabling it to navigate both polar and warm-water regions. The ship will be equipped with two Airbus helicopters, a custom-designed Triton AVA submersible, Zodiacs, and a superyacht tender.
Passengers can look forward to a wide array of amenities, including fifteen unique dining venues, expansive lounges, and a two-level spa and wellness facility that spans approximately 1,700 square meters. Its inaugural season will feature stops at 110 ports across 21 countries, unveiling 26 new destinations for the cruise line. The delivery of Scenic Ikon is scheduled for late 2027, just ahead of its maiden voyage from Venice.
According to Scenic Group’s chairman, the vessel is designed to deliver "unrivalled experiences" across diverse settings, ranging from the cultural hubs of the Mediterranean to the untouched landscapes of Antarctica. With the Scenic Ikon, the operator aims to elevate luxury expedition cruising by blending refined accommodations with advanced exploration equipment, catering to travelers who seek high-end, all-inclusive experiences in both remote and prominent locations.
