Celebrity Edge Kicks Off Its Third Season in Australia: What to Expect!

Celebrity Edge has launched its third season in Australasian waters, showcasing an exciting itinerary that features some of the region’s most breathtaking destinations across Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific. After completing a 19-night Transpacific crossing from Honolulu, the ship docked in Sydney on October 20, 2025, to kick off a series of sailings that will run through April 2026.

During this season, Celebrity Edge will embark on 17 voyages originating from Sydney and Auckland, offering a variety of trip lengths from 4-night breaks to longer 14-night journeys. The inaugural voyage is an 11-night cruise to the captivating World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef, setting the stage for a season rich in exploration and stunning coastal views.

Laura Hodges Bethge, president of Celebrity Cruises, emphasized that Celebrity Edge redefines cruise experiences with its innovative design, which enhances premium travel with opportunities for cultural and culinary enrichment. The vessel’s return to the region for a third season highlights the company’s dedication to delivering immersive and exploratory travel experiences.

This season features expanded access to New Zealand, with seven itineraries focused solely on its stunning landscapes. A notable highlight is a 13-night Holiday Cruise that allows guests to enjoy the festive season amidst the breathtaking fjords of Milford, Doubtful, and Dusky Sounds, which includes stops at seven ports across both North and South Islands. Additionally, a 9-night Australia Wine Journey offers an exploration of the eastern and southern coasts, featuring visits to premier vineyards in Hobart, Kangaroo Island, Adelaide, and Melbourne.

The 2025–2026 season has introduced 54 new shore excursions, including innovative offerings in Newcastle, where the ship will make its first call in December. Guests can look forward to a coastal sculpture walk paired with a wine tasting and lunch, blending art and local flavors.

In Wellington, a new wellness excursion invites passengers to relax in a serene rural farm environment. After visiting Mangaroa Farm and exploring the gardens, participants will enjoy yoga sessions beside native bush and streams, followed by refreshments made from locally grown ingredients.

Onboard, Celebrity Edge continues to reflect modern maritime luxury, featuring 29 dining and lounge venues, over 120 spa treatment options, and high-quality theatrical performances. The Magic Carpet, a cantilevered, floating platform, provides a unique dining and relaxation experience that extends over the water. The ship’s Infinite Veranda staterooms also offer uninterrupted ocean views and expanded living spaces.

Following Celebrity Edge’s arrival, Celebrity Solstice will dock in Sydney the next day, marking the first time Celebrity Cruises has had consecutive port days in the harbor. Solstice will return in April 2026 after undergoing a comprehensive US$250 million modernization, which will introduce new venues and enhance guest accommodations and entertainment options. This ensures that both ships will continue to provide remarkable itineraries capturing the essence of New Zealand, Australia’s renowned wine regions, and the South Pacific.
