GPH Secures 15-Year Concession for Transforming Casablanca Cruise Terminal

Global Ports Holding (GPH) has entered into a 15-year concession agreement with the Agence Nationale des Ports (ANP) in Morocco, allowing them to manage the new cruise terminal at Casablanca Cruise Port. The consortium, led by GPH with a 51% stake, includes local partners Steya and Ocean Infrastructures Management.

The terminal, officially inaugurated by King Mohammed VI on September 18, 2025, is equipped with a 650-metre quay, three boarding bridges, and parking for 44 coaches. This modern facility is designed to accommodate vessels up to 350 metres in length and can handle more than 450,000 passengers annually, with operations set to commence in January 2026.

This concession is viewed by GPH as a strategic move to enhance connectivity in the Atlantic and western Mediterranean regions, linking Casablanca with ports such as La Goulette, Las Palmas, and Mindelo. The aim is to position Casablanca as a key gateway for cruise itineraries between Europe and the Caribbean.

The investment of approximately EUR 72 million from ANP has significantly improved the terminal infrastructure. Following a substantial increase in traffic, Casablanca port saw around 150,000 transit passengers in 2024 and anticipates growth to 180,000 passengers in 2025.

Overall, this agreement signifies a notable advancement for GPH’s expansion plans and Morocco’s commitment to developing its cruise tourism infrastructure, ensuring better access for larger vessels and boosting the nation’s maritime tourism profile.
